Friends and I got into an intense discussion about religion and spirituality and an interesting question was posed . . . Could Mary have known of the magnitude and ultimate sacrifice of her first-born?  This mixed media piece reflects that question and pays homage to the strength of a mother.  Made in the iconastic style the hand painted bisque Madonna and Child sits in a hand made pine box.  The dimensions are 8” x 10”.There is no question that this richly colored piece will warrant lively discuss wherever it hangs.
